Word of Encouragement – 9/27/17

We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Wallace (June) Emmert into our fellowship. Wallace is a long time school friend from my days in Ennis, and I look forward to fellowshipping with them. The Lord has sent some wonderful people to our church recently, and it gives me great encouragement concerning what I know He has for FBC in the days to come.

I am also looking forward to our revival services. Bro. Grady Cashion has been pastor at FBC Blooming Grove for almost 25 years. It is his first pastorate, and God has truly smiled on their ministry together through the years. I have had opportunities to work with Bro. Grady in two revivals while we were pastoring in Teague. Please pray for him as he brings the word to us this week. Revival comes to a people who are hungry and thirsty for a closer walk with God – and He is the One Who sends revival.

Meet with us at the church – in the altar, Thursday and Friday at 6 p.m. We are simply going to petition the Lord on behalf of revival.

Bro. Steve Colburn, worship leader at FBC Blooming Grove, will be leading us in worship during this revival, and he will begin his services with us Sunday night. Bro. Steve has served as worship leader at Farley Street, Waxahachie, and First Baptist Church, Mansfield. He went on the road for several years, singing with the group, “Shiloh.” He presently serves as an instructor at Navarro College, Corsicana, and has been serving FBC Blooming Grove for the past three years.

Remember these men in your prayers —and pray for old fashion, Heaven-sent revival.

I am very grateful for Eddie and Ruth Ballard for ministering to us Sunday night through music. Ruth and Carolyn did a masterful job with the piano/organ selections. Thanks to all who came to be a part of the service. And thanks to our ladies for providing refreshments afterward.

It doesn’t seem real that Carolyn and I began our ministry with you two years ago. These have been some of the greatest years of ministry for this unworthy preacher. I’ve said it before, but FBC people are earnest in their service to the Lord, and make sure that it is known that they do that service only for the Lord. What a great spirit for a church to have. Thank you all for all your many acts of love to us.

Love to all,

Bro. Paul
