Word of Encouragement – 5/6/2020

We had a wonderful meeting Saturday morning, May 2, with members of our leadership team, and others. Eleven people met at the church, with three others participating through the Internet (Zoom). The meeting was upbeat — filled with hope and optimism. We all agreed that God has been good to us — and we mentioned a date to start back up. This is not iron-clad — but we discussed the possibility of Sunday, June 7. The leadership team will meet on May 30 to revisit this idea.

Can we all see what’s happening here? God the Father has allowed us to go through what He has designed for His people since the beginning of time — He has placed us into a sort of wilderness setting so we may take our focus off things which seemed urgent, and has permitted us to focus more on Him. We have had more alone time with Him than we’ve probably had in our entire lives. And that is a wonderful thing.

Thanks to the miracle of the electronic age, we have had access to worship, via Internet, and, also Sunday school. Bro. Jordan Tew of the Baptist Publishing House has had a wonderful virtual Sunday school class each Sunday at 10 a.m. It’s not like being in an actual class at church, but it has been good.

Please pray for : (1) our FBC people who have needs – health, financial, emotional and spiritual needs — and for the comfort of those who have lost loved ones: (2) That very soon it will be safe for our church to resume services: (3) For our church’s financial needs: (4) For our nation. Almost 30,000,000 people are unemployed, and the nation’s economy has taken a huge hit: (5) For God the Father to supernaturally eradicate the COVID-19 virus; We are told a vaccine could be available by the end of the year, and also we are told the warm UV rays of the summer sun is very effective for killing the virus.
(6) I ask you to pray for your pastor, deacons, and all who have a leadership ministry in the church. Your pastor has wanted to be there with you, and for you when going through trials and loss. It has been most frustrating. I love each of you and am so thankful to be your pastor.
