Youth Pastor
Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role for a Youth Pastor. The Youth Pastor will lead and develop a dynamic youth ministry for students in grades 7–12, with a focus on discipleship, spiritual growth, and outreach. This role involves mentoring students, organizing and leading Bible studies and youth gatherings, and building meaningful relationships with youth and their families.
The Youth Pastor will work closely with church leadership to cultivate a well-balanced ministry that encourages students to grow in their faith and reach others with the Gospel. Responsibilities also include coordinating youth events, communicating ministry needs, and providing consistent spiritual guidance and support.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all aspects of the youth ministry (grades 7–12)
Develop and implement discipleship programs, Bible studies, and outreach initiatives
Serve as a Christ-like mentor and example to youth, families, and the congregation
Build strong relationships with students, parents, and church members
Collaborate with church leadership and volunteers to strengthen ministry efforts
Communicate regularly with church staff, leadership, and families
Plan and coordinate youth events and activities
Maintain records of youth participation and engagement
Prepare and manage the youth ministry budget in accordance with church policies
Attend leadership meetings and meet regularly with the Pastor for guidance and accountability
Pursue ongoing growth through training and continuing education in youth ministry
Perform additional ministry duties as assigned
Qualifications
A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian character
Passion for youth ministry and a heart for discipling students
Strong knowledge of Scripture and ability to teach and lead Bible studies
Ability to connect with and communicate effectively with youth and families
Demonstrated leadership, relational, and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and volunteers
Adaptability in working with diverse personalities and situations
Minimum age of 18 years
Successful completion of a background check
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Additional Information
This is a paid, part-time (non-exempt) position reporting directly to the Pastor. Regular attendance and active participation in church life are essential to effectively carry out this role.
